High-speed disc harrows are agricultural implements that are on the rise. Their advantages are the possibility of tilling at higher speed and the fact that each disc is independent, making disc replacement much more convenient in case of breakage. Bellota high-speed harrow mounts are manufactured with highly elastic steel and under very thorough production processes, which provide very high performance in cycle tests.
Supports for high-speed disc harrows
High-speed disc harrows, as their name suggests, are agricultural machines designed to work the soil efficiently and at high speed. They have the following characteristics:
- Shallow working depth: allows mixing crop residues with the soil without unlevelling the terrain.
- Independent discs: they generally have independent 18 or 20-inch discs, with their own hub. This facilitates the replacement of a broken disc.
Bellota high-speed disc harrow support range
The high-speed disc harrow normally consists of a support that connects the disc to the frame, the disc and the hub. At Bellota we have three different supports for connecting the disc to the frame:
- 90x14 support with clamp: for 60x60 or 70x70 frames with two different types of clamps.
- 90x14 support with connection at the lower part of the frame. The connection to the frame is made using 2 metric 14 bolts with 60mm distance between the two holes.
- 90x14 support with connection at the front part of the frame: The connection to the frame is made using 2 metric 16 bolts with 50mm distance between the two holes.
For any of the three supports, the straight or 19º attachment must be chosen along with the hub, which will determine the work performed by the disc. That is, with the straight attachment, vertical tillage will be carried out and a disc without concavity is recommended, and with the 19º model, traditional turning will be performed.
The recommended disc for this high-speed disc harrow is 18 or 20 inches maximum, where a standard market hub can be fitted.
Bellota also has two models of disc support with elastomers:
- Support for 80x80 frame: for 18" or 20" discs.
- Support for 100x100 frame: for 22" or 24" discs.
This support for high-speed disc harrows is ideal for tillage and sowing at high speeds, both in conventional tillage and direct drilling.
In very severe terrain conditions, to absorb all types of impacts, the support is rotated 45º to facilitate disc movement and thanks to the elastomers, there is no metal-to-metal contact.
The assembly comes with a 5-hole hub with double-row angular contact ball bearings.
